Aate ki Mathri

You will find Aate Ki Mathri being served at least once a week for breakfast in practically all Kayastha homes or occasionally also eaten with evening tea.

Aate Ki Mathri | Baatein Kadhai Se

Ingredients


Wheat Flour - 1 Cup

Roasted Suji - 2 Tablespoon

Ghee - 2 Tablespoon

Ajwain - 1/2 Teaspoon

Salt to taste

Oil for frying

Water to knead


Method


Step 1 - Mix all the ingredients except oil (for frying).

Step 2 - Add water to knead the dough, do remember that the dough has to be tough & not soft.

Step 3 - Make small balls from the dough & roll them.

Step 4 - Heat oil in a Kadhai & fry the mathris on both sides, one by one, till they turn brown.

Step 5 - Serve hot with achaar or chutney for breakfast or evening tea.
