A tikkia which is not made from potatoes - tastier & healthier. A Lucknowi Kayastha take of this recipe. Serve it as a main course or starter. Simply delicious.
Ingredients
White Peas/Matar/Safed Vatana - 1 cup
Red Chilli Powder - 1 teaspoon
Dry Mango Powder - 1 teaspoon
Homemakerz Garam Masala Powder - 1 teaspoon
Roasted Cumin - 1 teaspoon
Oil
Salt to taste
Method
Step 1 - Soak the matar overnight.
Step 2 - Pressure boil in the morning.
Step 3 - Put all the masala/ingredients & mix well.
Step 4 - Keep the flame on & dry out all the water. Reach a consistency where we can bind the matar & make cutlets.
Step 5 - Heat oil in a pan & fry the cutlets till nice & brown.
Step 6 - Serve hot with green chutney, tamarind chutney & chopped onions.
A delicious replacement to a boring aloo tikki.
